In a classroom setting, students learn best when they can see exactly how something is supposed to work. The TI Presenter allows the math instructor to link a TI-83/84/89 graphing calculator to what is essentially a black box and show the calculator screen on a monitor or a slide projector. If you have a regular student-edition TI-83/84/89 graphing calculator, then you will also need to purchase an adapter to link the calculator to the TI Presenter. However, you can purchase a teacher-edition of a TI-83/84/89 graphing calculator (which has a built-in port) for about $30 more than the student-edition and link it directly to the TI Presenter.
