Buyer beware, this is not a "Pack of 2", you will receive only one calculator. I have no idea why they would even put "Pack of 2" in the heading if you are not receiving two calculators. Very misleading advertising. When you state "Pack of 2" in the heading that means TWO ! And that is not what you are getting. Very disappointed in Amazon for allowing this in the title of the item.

TEXTI30XIIB CALC,SCIENTIFIC,2LN,BATT/PWR Review

TEXTI30XIIB CALC,SCIENTIFIC,2LN,BATT/PWR
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Texas Instruments' TI-30X-IIB and IIS series calculators are brilliant and intuitive. Users can think linearly and type into this calculator as they think. For example, if a student wants to find the square root of two, they first hit the square root function, then 2, then Enter, as opposed to typing it backwards (first 2, then the square root key). These calculators have a wide range of fraction functions that make working with mixed numbers and improper fractions a breeze. I recommend these calculators to all of my students who do not yet need to graph.
A previous reviewer mentioned a "bug" where negative numbers must have parentheses around them in order to be taken to exponents correctly. However, this is not a bug, because this follows the standard rules of math. This calculator, like all good ones, follows the order of operations, or PEMDAS (parentheses, exponents, multiplication and division, addition and subtraction) which means that exponents are to be solved before multiplication. Negative signs are supposed to be treated like multiplying a number by negative one. So if "-5^2" is typed into the calculator, the calculator will square the 5 (doing exponents first), and then multiply the answer by the negative 1, giving an answer of -25. In order to correctly square -5, you must put the -5 in parentheses in order to multiply -the 1 by the 5 before the number is squared: "(-5)^2".
This is definitely something that a user should be taught before using this calculator; however, it is not a bug because it is doing exactly what it is supposed to. A calculator should not have to break the rules of math to cater to those who do not know them.

Texas Instruments Faceplate for the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Review

Texas Instruments Faceplate for the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I recently purchased this item thinking it was three(3) faceplates in a single package since three color faceplates are shown. My purchase was filled by Endless Variety Customer Support not Ritz (do not know if they are the same). When I contacted them because I only received a single faceplate I was told the price was for one(1) faceplate and the color shipped was random. They also said they would fix this ad, but it is now more than 2 weeks since they said they would fix the ad and I still see 3 faceplates in the picture and nowhere do I see it clearly stated that it will only be a SINGLE random color facepplate you receive for the price.

Brightboxe DLP Projector Review

Brightboxe DLP Projector
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Brightboxe DLP Project is a good value for the money. I bought mine for < $100 at Target. It is a 40 Lumen projector (800:1 contrast ratio) with LED bulbs that is compatible at 640x480, 800x600, 1024 x 768 @ 60hz. It will project an image up to 100 inches if you can place it 15 feet from the target screen/wall.
The good: The Brightboxe is very inexpensive. The DLP projection unit will take a very, very long time befor it burns out. It is relatively light weight. It has connector compability with VGA connectors and Composite audio/video. In a dark room it projects a clean clear picture for either the WII or standard definition TV or VGA level computer use.
The bad: It has a built in speaker but you will never want to use it as the quality is too scratchy. It can only do 854x480 resolution natively so other higher resolutions are "compatible" but not as good. The power cable is kind of short and the VGA connector is of low quality.
Bottom Line: Consider for use with videogames (but not the xbox360) and standard definition tv in a room that can be darkened, it will be very good for that use but very dissapointing if you expect it to work in a bright room or with higher definition video playback requirements.

Texas Instruments Graph-Link Serial Cable for Windows Review

Texas Instruments Graph-Link Serial Cable for Windows
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This cable is a very handy thing to have. It is extremely useful for calculator backups (a good thing to do every once in a while in case your TI crashes), and you can download a bunch of stuff off the Net to put on your calculator. ... /
The software for different calculators (I have linked to the TI-83, the TI-85, and the TI-86) is more or less the same; the confusing thing is that every calculator has a different procedure for linking. With some (such as the 86), you must be at the home screen; with others (such as the 85), you must be in receive (or send) mode.
One warning, however: This cable ONLY works with Windows. If you're a Mac user, you must buy the other (and more expensive) all-purpose cable. Amazon.com sells this cable as well.
All in all, I would highly recommend buying a Graph Link. Make sure you have an available serial port, plug the cable in and go. Have fun playing Tetris. :-)

Designed to support and enhance the functionality of Texas Instruments graphing calculators, the TI-Graph Link for Windows connects your calculator to your computer. This unit-to-unit cable with a serial port lets you install calculator software and download data directly from the Web.
Use the TI-Graph Link to create and edit programs right on your screen while still having all your usual calculator functions. The program protection feature allows you to prevent editing after a program has been loaded onto your calculator. You can transfer both screen shots and files from your computer to your calculator. You can also store your calculator's programs and data on your computer or make backups of your graphing calculator's memory.
The TI-Graph Link for Windows supports Windows 95, 98, and NT 4.0; supports EGA, VGA, XGA, and SVGA video adapters; and supports 3.5-inch floppies, CD-ROMs, or an Internet connection. For Windows 95/98 users, an 8 MB RAM module is available; and for NT 4.0 users, a 16 MB RAM module is available. Included with the cable is a CD-ROM with software and a guidebook. The TI-Graph Link for Windows comes in black and is compatible with the TI-73, TI-83, TI-83 Plus, TI-86, TI-89, TI-92, TI-92 Plus, and other models that may be available in the future.

Texas Instruments TI-NSpire Math and Science Handheld Graphing Calculator Review

Texas Instruments TI-NSpire Math and Science Handheld Graphing Calculator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Strengths:
The document management system -- multiple "problems" can be kept in the calculator at the same time, and each problem keeps its own variable names; good graphing capabilities; ability to split the screen and work with multiple views of the same problem; spreadsheet application. The calculator has 5 "applications" (calculator, graphs & geometry, spreadsheet, data & statistics, notes), and information can be shared between them.
Weaknesses:
The documentation is very poor. There are two user guides, with considerable overlap in the contents. In User Guide Part 1, which comes packaged with the calculator, there are 25 pages on the Graphs & Geometry application, and the information on how to actually plot a graph is barely mentioned. User Guide Part 2 comes as a PDF file, and has more detail, but is badly organized and missing a lot of information. For example, instructions for a number of operations say to "drag" something, but nowhere in the manual does it say how to do that.
Keypad: other reviewers have commented on the difficulty pressing the right buttons on the keypad. Even worse is the "mouse" operation. I finally discovered that dragging involves holding the center "Click button" while pressing the arrow keys on the "NavPad". It is very difficult to control the cursor with the NavPad, and doubly so when trying to hold down the click button. Also, what operation is done by a click or drag is dependent on where on the screen the cursor is, and it's difficult to control the cursor location with the level of precision needed.
TI-84 compatibility: This seemed like a great idea. However, as far as I can determine, there's no way to integrate TI-84 functions with TI-Nspire functions. When you put in the TI-84 keypad, you get a TI-84. With the TI-Nspire keypad, you get a TI-Nspire. If you want to transfer information from one to the other, it seems to be impossible. The only relevant information in the documentation about TI-84 mode is a warning that if you update the operating system, all your added TI-84 applications will be deleted.
Lack of software: The TI-84 has a lot of user-contributed software. There's almost nothing on the TI web site for the TI-Nspire. I also didn't find much with a web search, and some of what is available requires the CAS version. For example, there don't appear to be any built-in physical constants or conversion factors for units. I could switch to TI-84 mode and get them, but then what's the point of buying the TI-Nspire?
Summary:
This calculator does not appear to be well-engineered or well-supported by TI. I would recommend waiting to see whether they give it the support that it deserves.

These are the standard student calculators. Students usually learn how to use calculators on these instruments and use them from 2nd grade through middle school in class and on standardized tests from 7th grade on. They are extremely durable (because they will be dropped on the floor a number of times each class period) and last for years.

Texas Instruments TI-30XIIB Scientific Calculator Review

Texas Instruments TI-30XIIB Scientific Calculator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this calculator b/c the National Board in Examiners of Optometry (NBEO) only allow Texas Instruments 30-series calculators on their exam. It's a good calculator and does just about anything you need it to for practical uses. I don't want to be rude, but the previous reviewers weren't "on the ball" on this one. If you want a solar model, buy one. This exact calculator is available in both battery and solar power. Your fault. To find square roots of a previously entered number, use the "Ans" key and close the parentheses inside the root bar. For basic exponents, use the "^" key. Don't blame the manufacturer for your incompetance.
Overall, don't listen to the previous 2 reviewers, and buy this calculator for use with any major exam (it will likely be one of the few permissible anyway).

Actually, at first I was a hesitate to buy the ti-81. Finally, I had made the decision to buy it. I find that it's worth every penny. I love it. Trust me, this calculator can do almost everything like the ti-83, except that it doesn't have as much memory as the ti-83 and the ability to transfer info. However, I find that the ti-81 is every easy to use. Not bad at all!!

Texas Instruments TI-89 Titanium Graphing Calculator Review

Texas Instruments TI-89 Titanium Graphing Calculator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My science and math minded daughter used a loner TI-89 all through her senior year of High School and, after being accepted at a very good engineering collage, asked for one of her own as a graduation gift. My daughter could have asked for another model or brand, but she did research and was set on getting the TI-89. This was most useful for use in her AP Calculus and Physics classes so she checked and found that this would also be among the preferred model in her college classes.
This is a seriously complicated device with a large learning curve and is likely more calculator than most people will ever need, but for those that do need these functions this is likely the right choice. I have only used it a few times out of desperation and was able to navigate the basic functions.
Highly Recommended!
